An Easy Cocktail Meatball Recipe

These BBQ Party Meatballs are not only easy to make, but you can make them ahead of time and even freeze them for parties! This cocktail meatball recipe makes party and holiday planning a breeze. Whip out these tasty little beef meatballs and throw a few toothpicks on the table and your friends will be entertained for hours!

We made these bbq meatballs in the oven and then tossed them with a simple sweet & spicy sauce. After making these meatballs, you can also keep them warm in a crock pot for a few hours during your party. Really, these cocktail meatballs are the perfect party food.

How To Make BBQ Party Meatballs

To make these cocktail meatballs, mix the ingredients together in a bowl and form these 2 inch round meatballs like we have here. Place them on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for about 12-15 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.

Remember these are small meatballs so they won’t take long to bake in the oven, just cut one in half to make sure that they are no longer pink in the middle.

When the meatballs come out of the oven, toss them in a sauce made from BBQ sauce, sriracha and honey. Use whatever BBQ sauce you like for this recipe, we’re adding the sweet and spicy flavors from the honey and sriracha sauce.

Love the heat? You can definitely add more sriracha or hot sauce to these meatballs! We kept it mildly spicy here so that everyone will like them, but you can spice them up as you like.

Toss the meatballs in the bbq sauce and then serve with toothpicks for grabbing. Need to keep these meatballs warm? Pour them into a slow cooker on the “warm” setting and these babies will stay hot all night!

Can You Make These Cocktail Meatballs Ahead Of Time?

Absolutely! Along those same lines of keeping these meatballs warm in a crock pot, you can make them a day or two ahead of time and then warm them up in your crock pot or oven.

To heat them up in a crock pot, start them off on high for an hour to warm them up and then turn down to the low or keep warm setting until you’re ready to serve. If you’re warming them up in the oven, add the meatballs to a baking dish and cover with foil. Heat them up in a 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes until they are hot.

Can I Make These Party Meatballs With Ground Turkey?

Totally. Ground turkey, chicken or pork would all be good options. If using ground chicken or turkey, the meatball mixture might be a little looser so just add a few more breadcrumbs to hold the meatballs together.
