Yum Yum Sauce has become one of our favorite sauce recipes to make at home! It’s so easy to make with just a few ingredients and the uses are endless. Cook up some chicken, steak and shrimp and serve this sauce on the side for dipping.
We use this sauce for dinner or appetizers! These delicious Fiesta Steak Bites or our tangy Marinated Chicken works with this sauce both for dinner and apps, or you can use this sauce with a cold appetizer like Roasted Shrimp Cocktail instead of cocktail sauce.
Also, just keep this sauce recipe in the refrigerator for slathering on your favorite turkey sandwich…it’s unbelievably good.
How To Make Yum Yum Sauce
This creamy hibachi sauce couldn’t be easier to make! All you need to do is add mayonnaise, ketchup, rice wine vinegar, paprika, garlic powder and a little sugar for sweetness. Mix together and let chill for about 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend together.
Once the sauce has had a chance to chill, give it another stir, taste it for seasonings and adjust if needed. You can spice this dipping sauce up with cayenne pepper or sriracha if you like it to have a little heat!
How Long Does This Sauce Last In The Refrigerator?
Well, our doesn’t last long. We tend to put this creamy Japanese sauce on just about everything, but just in case you have a little lapse in time before consuming this tasty sauce, you’ll get about 5 days in the fridge.
Keep it covered in a container and stash it right next to your favorite condiments!

This tasty Japanese Hibachi Sauce is so easy to make at home! Serve with grilled chicken, steak or shrimp for dipping!
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk together well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
