This Red White and Blueberry Tequila Cocktail is the perfect drink for your Fourth of July BBQ! A light, refreshing tequila drink for all parties!
A Light Tequila Drink For Fourth of July
Not to say that we only have to make this Red White and Blueberry Tequila Cocktail on the Fourth of July, but it sure is a fun one for all your holiday BBQ’s! The festive colors and fresh fruit and the splash of tequila just scream party to me.
And like I said, this is a light tequila cocktail so you’re not going to be that guy falling off the deck after one or two of these drinks. Just a splash or two of tequila mixed with seltzer and grenadine from the cherry jar. A little is all you need to hold out for those long BBQ days!
What Kind Of Tequila Do I Need To Make This Red White and Blueberry Tequila Cocktail?
We like a light Reposado, like this bottle of Hornitos. But there are many, many good brands to choose from so just grab what you like and what’s affordable to you. Obviously you’re not going to want to break out the top shelf tequila when you’re mixing it in a cocktail with seltzer.
And remember if you’re making these tequila drinks for a big BBQ crowd, you might go through the bottle. So a bottle around 20, 25 bucks should work.
How Do I Make This Tequila Cocktail?
It couldn’t be easier, just add ice to your favorite tall glass or high ball, then add a half an ounce of grenadine from the bottle of cherries or a bottle of straight up grenadine syrup.
Next add cherries to the bottom, we used a bit more here for effect but 4 or 5 cherries will do for the bottom layer. Then add ice another layer of ice, then pour in the tequila and top with seltzer.
Add a handful of blueberries to the top and a straw for sipping! We used a few of these fun, star shaped ice cubes for added Fourth of July fun, but good old regular ice cubes will obviously be just fine. The light, refreshing party drink here is what we’re after.
