If you’re looking for an easy salmon recipe, you’ve come to the right place. These Crispy Teriyaki Salmon Bites only take 15 minutes, minus the time for marinating! Seared in a skillet until crispy, then tossed with the boiled marinade.

Ingredients For Salmon Bites

Just a few ingredients (with some tips!) are all you’ll need to get these Crispy Teriyaki Salmon Bites ready to go.

  • Salmon: You’ll want to try and get a thicker filet of salmon to make the cubes that you see here. Other than that, I’ll leave the farm raised and wild caught argument up to you.

  • Garlic Paste: I’m not sure how many of you know about these tubes of garlic paste that you can find in the produce section (usually by the fresh herbs) at your grocery store. The garlic paste won’t burn like fresh minced garlic would, especially when you’re searing at a higher temperature.
  • Ginger Paste: Same as the garlic paste. Squeeze it into the marinade and you’re on your way without peeling or grating fresh ginger!
  • Soy Sauce: Soy sauce always adds tons of flavor to Asian inspired recipes like these salmon bites.
  • Teriyaki Baste & Glaze: One of our favorite ingredients to use on salmon, this also helps thicken up the marinade.
  • Toasted Sesame Oil: This oil has a delicious, nutty flavor that goes perfectly in this salmon bite recipe.
  • Chili Garlic Paste: Also found in the Asian aisle at the grocery store, it has a mild garlic spice so you only need a little bit! You can also swap in sriracha if you like.

How To Make Salmon Bites

These Crispy Teriyaki Salmon Bites are so easy to make! We’ll take you through it in just a few steps!

Seared cubes of salmon for salmon bites recipe
  1. Mix the ingredients together for the marinade and then marinate the salmon for an hour in the refrigerator. Remove the salmon from the marinade and set the cubes onto paper towels to dry slightly.
  2. Pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, then remove from the heat.
  3. Add oil to a large skillet over high heat and then add the salmon cubes in a single layer, leaving room around each piece of fish so that the cubes sear properly. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side (depending on how large your salmon cubes are) and then transfer to a plate and cover with foil.
  4. Repeat with the remaining salmon cubes, if needed.
  5. Add all the cooked salmon (along with any juices from the plate) back to the skillet, along with the boiled marinade. Toss gently to coat the salmon and then remove from the heat.

Can You Make Salmon Bites Ahead Of Time?

You can definitely make these salmon bites ahead of time and reheat them them the microwave. Although we do love the crispiness that you get on the salmon when you first make it, reheating the salmon will work just fine.

Do try to make this salmon recipe right before eating to get that crispy, seared deliciousness that we love. But if you do end up with leftovers, reheating them will work just fine.

What Vegetables Can I Serve With Salmon Bites?

As far as I’m concerned, any vegetable will do. As long as you’re getting your veg in, go ahead and eat what you like. Of course, we’ll give you a few ideas here, too!

Can You Make This Salmon Recipe With Other Types Of Fish?

While salmon is the preferred fish for this recipe, you can substitute other types of firm, mild fish. Haddock, mahi mahi, grouper and halibut are all great options. Try a few different kinds and see what your crowd likes best!

I’m telling you guys, if you’re trying to get salmon into your weekly meals, this recipe is the one to do it with. We’ve tested these salmon bites on quite a few younger kids and they all loved them!
