Scale
Ingredients
- 2 pounds salmon, cut into cubes, skin removed (try and get thicker filets so that you can cut larger size cube. Refer to the pictures in the post for reference on the size.)
- 1 tablespoon peanut oil (can also use avocado oil or canola oil)
For The Marinade:
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup teriyaki baste & glaze (a thick sauce, found by the soy sauce)
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste or finely minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste or finely minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1–2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce or sriracha
- Sesame seeds and chopped scallions for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the salmon into 1 1/2 to 2 inch cubes. Add the salmon to a large bowl or resealable bag.
- Add the ingredients for the marinade into a bowl, whisking together to combine. Reserve 1/4 cup of the marinade and set aside. Pour the remaining marinade over the salmon cubes. Toss to combine and refrigerate for 30 minutes to an 1 hour.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade and place onto paper towels to dry slightly.
- Add oil to a large skillet over high heat and then add the salmon cubes in a single layer, leaving room around each piece of fish so that the cubes sear properly. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side (depending on how large your salmon cubes are) and then remove to a plate and cover with foil. Repeat with the remaining salmon cubes, if needed, depending on the size of your skillet.
- Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet while still hot and let reduce for 1 minute. Add the salmon back into the skillet and toss gently to combine with the sauce. Top with sesame seeds and scallions and serve immediately.
Recipe Notes
Store: Store leftover salmon in a container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat: Reheat salmon bites in the microwave until just warmed through. Alternately, an air fryer will crispy the salmon up again wonderfully.
