Why You’ll Love Our Buffalo Chicken Wrap Recipe
One reason we love this Buffalo Chicken Wrap is because it’s less of a recipe and more of a method. Follow our techniques and proportions here and then make this chicken wrap your own!
- Easy to Make: Using store bought ingredients makes this chicken wrap so easy to put together. You can easily swap out any type of chicken that you like.
- Food on the Go: Whether you’re heading out to a tailgate or packing lunch for the day, these wraps are the perfect on the go meal.
- Fun Food for Parties and Game Days: Set out a few different chicken options (either crispy or grilled) a bunch of different sauce options and even different types of wraps. A fun party or game day food idea!
Ingredients You’ll Need
We’re taking a ton of help from the store to make our Buffalo Chicken Wraps a cinch to make. Of course, sometimes we have leftover chicken from various recipes that we’ll use instead, and hopefully we have our creamy coleslaw on hand. However, if homemade options aren’t available, these store bought items are a delicious swap out.

- Chicken Nuggets: Any type of chicken nugget that you like, even chicken tenders can be cut up into bite sized pieces. If you don’t like the crispy variety, you can swap out grilled chicken nuggets or even rotisserie chicken.
- Flour Tortillas: Burrito size tortillas or larger so you can fit as much filling in as possible. Flour tortillas work best, plain or any flavor you like.
- Coleslaw Dressing and Mix: You can buy premade coleslaw, make our delicious homemade coleslaw or buy dressing and cabbage mix like we have here.
- Mild Buffalo Wing Sauce: We like to use mild sauce for our wraps but you can use whatever sauce you like. If you want to keep them mild for a crowd, you can add hot sauce to individual wraps.
- Cheddar Cheese: Shredded cheddar cheese adds another layer of flavor. Monterey jack or even pepper jack would also be delicious.
- Ranch or Bleu Cheese Dressing: Add a drizzle in the wrap or serve it on the side for dipping.
How To Make
Once you have your ingredients ready, making these chicken wraps only takes a few minutes! You can serve them as is or make them crispy by frying them in a skillet for a minute or two on both sides.

- Coleslaw: Add prepared coleslaw to the center of a tortilla. We’re adding about 1 1/2 cups because we love the creamy, cool crunch, but you can add less if you like.

- Chicken Nuggets: Chop the chicken into bite sized pieces and toss in the buffalo wing sauce. Add about 1 1/2 cups of the chicken to the top of the coleslaw.

- Add Cheese & Wrap: Add 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (or more if you like) on top of the chicken. Fold the sides of tortilla into the center and then roll up the wrap burrito-style, tucking in the filling as you roll. Slice in half and serve.

Tips For Best Results
- Don’t overstuff: As much as we say “add as much as you like”, keep in mind that the proportions here are what works best. If you add too much filling it will fall out when you wrap it or the tortilla will split.
- Warm the tortilla: A warm tortilla will be more pliable. If you have a gas stove you can heat it up for a few seconds on both sides before using. Or add the tortilla to a skillet, or you can even place it in the microwave for about 10 seconds.
- Tuck & Squeeze: As you wrap the tortilla up, tuck in the filling and squeeze the wrap gently to condense the filling so it stays in tact.
Ideas For Sides
You can keep it simple with a salad and fries or go all out! It all depends on what you’re making these Buffalo Chicken Wraps for, an easy lunch or dinner or a game day feast.

Buffalo Chicken Wrap Recipe
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cook Time: 5 minutes
- Total Time: 10 minutes
- Yield: 1 Serving
This crave-worthy Buffalo Chicken Wrap makes for an easy lunch or a fun dinner that’s ready in just minutes! Wrap them up on game day or even bring along to your tailgate. Crispy chicken doused in buffalo wings sauce with cool, creamy crunchy coleslaw and cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked, chicken nuggets (or use any type of cooked chicken you like or have on hand)
- 1/2 cup mild buffalo wing sauce
- 2 cups coleslaw mix (see note)
- 1/2 cup store bought coleslaw dressing
- 1 burrito size or larger flour tortilla
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Ranch or Blue Cheese Dressing for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the chicken nuggets according to the package directions. Chop into bite sized pieces and place into a bowl. Toss with the buffalo wing sauce and keep warm until you’re ready to wrap.
- While the chicken is cooking, add the coleslaw mix to a bowl and toss with the dressing.
- Warm up a flour tortilla on the stove top or in the microwave, just until soft and warm. In the microwave you’ll need about 10 seconds, on the stove top (either on a gas range or in a skillet) about 10 seconds per side.
- Place the tortilla on a cutting board. Add the coleslaw to the center of the tortilla, topped with the chicken nuggets. Add the shredded cheese to the top of the chicken and get ready to wrap.
- Tuck the sides of the tortilla in towards the center and roll up the wrap burrito-style, tucking in the sides and gently squeezing the wrap as you roll, ending with the seam down.
- Use a serrated knife to cut the wrap in half and serve.
- BONUS: If you want a crispy wrap, leave the wrap whole. Add a drizzle of oil to a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the wrap in seam side down and cook for 2 minutes until lightly browned. Flip the wrap over and cook another 2 minutes on the other side. Remove to a board, cut in half and serve.
Recipe Notes
- For the chicken: We like using crispy chicken nuggets, or chicken tenders for the taste and texture. However, you can use grilled chicken, rotisserie chicken or any chicken that you have on hand. Just cut into bite sized pieces and toss with the buffalo wing sauce.
- For the coleslaw: You can make homemade coleslaw, buy pre-made slaw from the store or follow the directions we have here.
To Store: If you plan on making these wraps ahead of time for a tailgate or for a take along meal, let the chicken cool completely before adding to the wrap. Wrap the chicken wrap with aluminum foil and store in the refrigerator or in a cooler.
