  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • Fresh black pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley or 2 tablespoons fresh parsley

How To Make Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs

This recipe couldn’t be easier to make. It’s a perfect recipe for meal prepping and freezing for easy dinners and for using in other recipes like meatball subs or using in a quick soup recipe.

  1. Make The Ground Turkey Mixture: Add all the ingredients to a large bowl and mix together until well combined.
  2. Form The Meatballs: Use a cookie scoop to portion out the meatballs. These meatballs are about the size of a golf ball.
  3. Cook The Meatballs: Spray the basket of an air fryer with non-stick cooking spray and place the meatballs into the basket in a single layer. You’ll need to cook the meatballs in two batches so that you don’t overcrowd the air fryer.

What Can I Serve With Meatballs?

You can go traditional and serve these turkey meatballs with pasta and sauce. It’s one of our favorite dinners, any night of the week.

Or like we mentioned above, you can use these meatballs to make a meatball sub, add them to soups or even slice them up for pizza or quesadillas!

Our kids love snacking on these right from the fridge, even cold, dipping them into barbecue sauce or sriracha mayonnaise.

Can You Freeze Turkey Meatballs?

Yes! This recipe already makes a ton, but if you want to do some meal prepping or if you have leftovers, freezing is the way to go.

Just let the meatballs cool down completely and then store in freezer bags. These meatballs will stay good in your freezer for up to 3 months. Pull them out, let them defrost and then warm in the oven or back in the air fryer.

Variations

Instead of ground turkey, you can also use ground chicken or ground beef to make these air fryer meatballs.

Depending on what flavor profile you’re looking for, you can add all sorts of different herbs and spices to this meatball recipe, too. Try using fresh herbs like parsley or basil, or even cilantro for a Mexican vibe.

If you’re trying to serve these meatballs as part of a low carb meal, try placing the meatballs on a bed of spaghetti squash instead of pasta.

Our Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs are so flavorful and juicy! An easy to make, healthy dinner recipe that’s ready to serve in just minutes. Add pasta and sauce for a complete dinner or enjoy as is!

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup part-skim ricotta cheese or 2% cottage cheese (for extra protein)
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • Fresh black pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees if needed.
  2. Add all of the ingredients to a large bowl and mix together until just combined. Don’t over mix the mixture or the meatballs will be tough. Portion out the meatballs with a 3 tablespoon scooper (#20). The meatballs will be about the size of a golf ball.
  3. Spray the basket of the air fryer with non-stick cooking spray and place the meatballs in the bottom of the basket in a single layer, leaving some space in between the meatballs. Cook for 12 minutes, turning over halfway through cooking. Test a meatball to make sure the center is no longer pink and then repeat with the remaining meatballs.
  4. Serve with marinara sauce and pasta if desired.

Oven Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place the meatballs on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes until the centers are no longer pink. The meatballs won’t get golden brown on the outside using an oven, but still juicy and delicious!

Recipe Notes

Store: After the meatballs have cooled down completely, store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Freeze: After the meatballs have cooled down completely, store in an air tight container or a freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw the meatballs in the refrigerator and place back into the air fryer for 3-4 minutes until warmed through.

Low Carb: If you’re looking for a lower carb turkey meatball, you can reduce the breadcrumbs to 1/4 cup.
