Why You’ll Love This Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken
- Ridiculously Quick Prep Time: You’ll need about 5 minutes to make the spice blend and rub it onto the chicken. We usually have our rub made in bulk ready to go, so it’s even faster.
- Better Value Than Buying At The Store: Rotisserie chickens are getting smaller and smaller at my grocery store – and more expensive. For just about $7.00 you can get a 3 1/2 pound chicken that’s much more than what you’re buying already prepped and cooked, and it’s going to be a lot fresher.
- No Need To Preheat The Oven: No waiting for the oven to preheat, and your house won’t heat up in the process. Also, if you’re cooking for a party or holiday, the air fryer frees up your oven space.

- Prepare the chicken: Tie the chicken legs and wings together for more even cooking. Mix together our All Purpose Seasoning (if you don’t have it on hand already) and rub it all over both sides of the chicken. Place the chicken breast side down in your air fryer.

- Cook the chicken: Air Fry the chicken for 30 minutes, then flip over and cook for another 20-25 minutes until the chicken registers 165 degrees. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
How Long To Cook A Whole Chicken In An Air Fryer
This will, of course depend on how much your chicken weighs. A 3 – 3 1/2 pound whole chicken cooks in about 50-55 minutes. A larger chicken will take up to 70 minutes, but you can test with a meat thermometer to make sure it’s 165 degrees in the thigh.
Most air fryers will only hold up to a 4 1/2 pound chicken, so make sure when you’re buying your chicken that it will fit inside your air fryer.

Ways To Use Leftover Chicken
Make sure to use up leftover chicken within four days after cooking. You can also freeze any leftover meat and/or bones that you have if you’re not going to use it up.
You can also just add it to your favorite salad, stuff it into tortillas with lettuce and tomato, or chop it up and add it on top of a platter of nachos.

How Many People Will A Four Pound Chicken Feed?
A four pound chicken will typically feed 4-5 people. The bones add to the weight, so keep in mind that the entire four pounds isn’t just meat. You can stretch the chicken by serving a couple of sides like a salad and a vegetable side dish like these crispy ranch potatoes.
