We love making layered shots like our famous Duck Fart Shots too! But you can make any shot for a party like our Double Trouble Tropical Tequila Shots or even Dessert Shots!
Because sometimes a drink is too good just to have once.
Not that you’d only be making this Layered Candy Cane Shot once, on Christmas day. There’s Christmas Eve and all the other random cocktail parties you’ll be heading off to this time of year.
And let’s not forget New Year’s Eve!
You always have to have a signature drink or a shot for New Year’s Eve parties.
At least in my opinion you do.
Not only do you need a signature drink, but you also need a signature dessert like these Champagne Jello Shots!
When I make shots or drinks for parties I try and think about something that everyone there is going to enjoy. Not just a shot of whiskey, that I’ll gladly partake in…but something for everyone.
So this Layered Candy Cane Shot I think has that to it – something sweet, something minty but then a layer of vodka to keep it real.
How Do You Make A Layered Shot?
Start out by adding a layer of RumChata to the bottom of a shot glass…
You can even get these set up ahead of time, as long as you don’t shake them around they’ll stay layered just how you made them.
Now layer in the Creme De Menthe…pour it slowly over the back of a spoon so it sits on top of the RumChata.
Finally layer is going to be the Peppermint Vodka…which will sit nicely on top!
Get ready for the Christmas cheer when you bring out a tray of these Layered Candy Cane Shots, it’s going to make the crowd go wild!
Garnish with a mini candy cane and serve these festive holiday cocktails at your next holiday party!

These festive Christmas drinks can be made ahead of time so they’re ready for your party when your guests arrive!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces of RumChata
- 1/2 ounce Creme De Menthe
- 1/2 ounce Peppermint Vodka
- Mini green candy canes for garnish
Instructions
- Pour the RumChata into a tall shot glass.
- Insert a small spoon just to tough the top layer of the RumChata, then slowly pour in the Creme De Menthe.
- Use the same method to pour the vodka on the top layer.
- Garnish with a green candy cane and serve.

no they don’t have to be layered, it’s just for appearance. What you could do instead is add a fun sugared or crushed peppermint rim!
Tastes great !! However I cannot get the Creme De Menthe to stay above the rum chata. It sinks below. Unable to get it like the picture. Any tip will be appreciated. I followed instructions.
