Jalapeñoback Shot

You’ve heard of a Pickleback shot? Tonight we’re spicing things up and making this Jalapeñoback Shot instead. A spicy tequila shot that’s perfect for parties!

This Jalapeñoback Shot is my spicy twist on a Pickleback Shot!

What Is A Pickleback Shot?

A pickleback shot is pretty simple. It’s a shot of whiskey chased by a shot of pickle juice, or pickle brine really from the jar of pickles. As you know we like to switch things up here so we decided to swap out the pickles for pickled jalapeños.

Pickled jalapeños aren’t as spicy as raw jalapeños so don’t be too afraid. I’m not saying that you won’t want that ice cold beer chaser with this Jalapeñoback Shot, because you will.

We used raw jalapeños for the garnish on these shots but pickled jalapeños will work fine too. Just imagine a few of these tequila shots on Cinco de Mayo or just on Taco Tuesday…the perfect drink along with that big tray of nachos.

What Kind Of Tequila Should I Use For This Shot Recipe?

The truth is you can use any tequila you like drinking. We used a tequila añjeo for these shots because originally this was a sponsored post for Hornitos Cristalino. So grab whatever kind of tequila you enjoy and start poruing!

What Kind Of Food Should I Serve With These Tequila Shots?

Because you have to bring on the food when you’re shooting tequila. We all know what happens when you don’t…

You can keep with the them of spicy food or you can tame down the spice with something mild and creamy. We’ll give you some of both options!
