How Do You Make Lettuce Wraps?
This dinner recipe can literally be on the table in less than 15 minutes! Make the ground chicken filling and assemble your lettuce wraps – it doesn’t get easier than that!
- Place a skillet over medium heat and spray with cooking spray. Add the ground chicken to cook, crumbling as it cooks until cooked through.
- Add the garlic, stir and cook a minute more and then add the salt, pepper, onion powder, sriracha, soy sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce and bamboo shoots. Stir to combine and let cook for 3-4 minutes. Taste for seasonings and adjust if needed.
- Serve the chicken filling in lettuce wraps, over rice or ramen noodles. Garnish with peanuts, scallions and pepper strips.
What Kind Of Lettuce Works Best For Lettuce Wraps?
There’s a few different kinds of lettuce to choose from. Butter lettuce or Boston Bibb is perfect because it’s soft and flexible, so it won’t crack or break when you go to wrap up these lettuce wraps.
You can also use Romain hearts which are firmer but you can eat them without actually wrapping them up. The crunchy, sweet texture that Romaine lettuce has makes it a great base for these lettuce wraps!
Can You Make This Recipe Ahead Of Time?
Even though this is a 15 minute recipe, it can definitely be made ahead of time. When we do this, we usually double the recipe for the filling and keep it in the refrigerator for eating during the week.
All you need to do is microwave a bowl of the chicken filling, grab some lettuce and dinner is done!

What is a good replacement for Hoisin sauce?
You can use a teriyaki glaze, which is thicker than teriyaki sauce. But hoisin does give the chicken a really nice flavor.
