This Pomegranate Prosecco Cocktail is our go to drink for the holidays! This champagne cocktail is made with pomegranate and citrus liquors topped with bubbly champagne. It’s a perfect Christmas or New Years Eve cocktail recipe!
An Easy Christmas or New Years Cocktail
My favorite day at Christmas time is decorating the tree, since we make it a special event in our house. One of our new traditions is making these Pomegranate Prosecco Cocktails.
We have treats for the kids and Christmas music playing…I know a lot of people I talk to just put the ornaments on themselves or they don’t want to involve the kids, but we really like doing it.
After the kids go to bed we put the tinsel on the tree and have a few glasses of prosecco…just a few. If you really want to make it a party, break out these Champagne Jello Shots for dessert, too!
We make a lot of drink recipes using pomegranate flavor, most recently this Sparkling Fireball Sangria, but also this Pomegranate Old Fashioned and one of my favorites, a Rosemary Reposado.
How To Remove Pomegranate Seeds
Grab a couple of whole pomegranates from the store, cut them in half and bang them with a spoon (cut side down) over a large bowl. If you put a paper towel down in the bowl first it’ll help keep the juice from going all over.
Most grocery stores do sell pomegranate seeds in a container but I like doing them myself at home. It can be messy but the kids really like helping out with this task and also the fresh seeds taste a lot better since they add a preservative to the seeds sold in stores.
We like a good amount of pomegranate seeds at the bottom, so add as much or as little as you like. Remember when you’re done drinking you can eat up the seeds for a snack!
Our boys are obsessed with pomegranate seeds, they would eat them all year if we let them – we get our champagne cocktails and the boys can have their pomegranate seeds to snack on!
Can You Make These Champagne Cocktails Ahead Of Time?
You totally can! Grab a pitcher, triple the recipe and add the liquor to the bottom of each champagne glass along with a tablespoon of the pomegranate seeds. Come party time just top with champagne and serve!
