How Do You Make A Hot Turkey Sandwich?
There’s so many different ways that you can make a hot turkey sandwich. We love these sandwiches so much, we actually make them pretty often throughout the year. Serve with crispy french fries or leftover mashed potatoes and dinner is done.
- STEP 1 – Start by toasting 2 slices of sturdy bread. You can use white, whole wheat, sour dough, ciabatta, brioche, really whatever bread you have on hand that will hold up under all of these layers.
- STEP 2 – The first layer is leftover stuffing, then sliced cranberry sauce (our kids will ONLY eat the stuff in the can) your leftover turkey and then it’s gravy time. Pour hot turkey gravy all over the top of your sandwich.
Of course, you can just make these Hot Turkey Sandwiches with just leftover turkey and gravy. Maybe your family ate all the stuffing and cranberry sauce, or maybe you just like to keep it simple.
Customize this open faced turkey sandwich to your liking, but the hot turkey gravy is key. This is our go to turkey gravy recipe that we make every year, it’s so easy we put our boys in charge of making it on Thanksgiving day!
