How Spicy Is A Jalapeño?

Jalapeños aren’t actually as hot as you think they are. A jalapeño pepper is more on the middle to medium heat level compared to other peppers.

There are things that you can do to make this recipe less spicy or more spicy. If you like your dip on the spicier side, you can add more jalapeños to the recipe or a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce.

Or if you want this dip on the more mild side, then stick to the amount we have listed here and remove the inner white ribs and seeds of the peppers before adding them to the blender.

Do remember to either wear gloves or wash your hands really well after cutting a jalapeño or any spicy pepper, the oil will stay on your hands for a while and if you accidentally get that in your eyes it’ll hurt like heck.

How Do You Make This Creamy Jalapeño Dip?

Well that’s the best part. All the ingredients for this dip recipe go into a blender and in 30 seconds this dip is ready for dipping!

If you aren’t a cilantro fan, you can substitute parsley instead. I really love the flavor that cilantro gives this dip, but I know it isn’t a flavor for everyone so feel free to swap it out.

Since this dip comes together in less than 5 minutes, you can either make it at the last minute before serving or you can make it a day ahead of time and keep it covered in the refrigerator.

I mean, really, no video even required but we love showing you guys how easy this appetizer recipe is to  make! We all love 5 minute appetizers, especially if you have a last minute get together or maybe some more time consuming items on your menu.

What Ingredients Do I Need To Make This Dip Recipe?

As you might have guesses, jalapeños are going to be on the list. But we promise, this dip recipe isn’t going to be blow your head off spicy – and you can add as few or as many jalapeños as you want!

Jalapeños: Grab a bunch so you can see how spicy you like your dip to be!

Cream Cheese: Softened cream cheese adds flavor and texture to this dip.

Mayonnaise: We prefer mayonnaise in this dip but you can also swap out sour cream!

Cilantro: I know everyone isn’t a fan, but cilantro adds such a delicious flavor to this recipe so give it a try!

Limes: You’ll need a couple of limes for fresh limes juice
