Rice Krispies® Peppermint Blossoms are the easiest, most fun way to make holiday cookies! They might even become your new holiday tradition!

Rice Krispies Peppermint Blossoms are such an easy holiday cookie to make!

There’s almost always a box of Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® in our house. Either for eating with milk in the morning or – you guessed it – for making these treats.

Rice Krispies® treats are a classic. My mom made them for me, I make them for my kids and I’m pretty sure my kids will be making them for their kids too. They’ve got the perfect recipe combination, awesome tasting and super easy to make with only a few ingredients. We always grab a family size box of Kellogs® Rice Krispies® whenever we’re shopping at Walmart.

We have our family favorites when it come to making Christmas cookies, too. There’s some that my mom makes that I’m not sure I see at a lot of other families houses and then there are the traditional cookies too that you see almost everywhere.

One of my favorites growing up was always peanut butter blossoms. You know the kind, right? A peanut butter cookie that has a chocolate candy pushed down in the middle? Loved those. Still do.

Every single time I’d try and eat it differently, one was is pulling off the candy first. Another way is bitting through the candy and the cookie at the same time to see if I could bite it exactly in half…it’s weird what you remember from being a kid but those are the things that stick with you.

This year I had the idea of combining two of my favorite recipes – rice krispies® treats and peanut butter blossom cookies. To make them a little more festive, I took out the peanut butter and mixed in crushed peppermint. You can crush up candy canes or those soft peppermint candies…any kind of peppermint you have. You can also swap out the peppermint for your favorite candy too!

I’m going to take you through how to make these step by step – you’re not going to believe how easy they are!

Start out by making a batch of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies® treats…you know how to make them…

Then you’re going to add in a cup of crushed peppermint, you can even by jars of crushed peppermint candy like I did to really make this easy, but if you crush the up yourself just throw the peppermints in a plastic zip top bag and crush them up with a rolling pin.

Stir it in…

You do need to work a little quickly here, as you know these will harden up quickly so son’t worry about being to exact with the size of your balls. Just get in there and grab a handful, roll into a ball and place a chocolate candy in the middle.

And repeat.

If your they do start to harden up on you – hear is a cool trick. Take the whole bowl and throw it in the microwave for 15 seconds and they’ll soften up again for you!

You can do that as many times as you need to and they’ll be just fine.

How fun are these? I can promise you, they’re as fun to eat as they are to make! Get the whole family involved in this recipe, maybe these Rice Krispies® Peppermint Blossoms will become one of your new cookie traditions!
