This Crab Cake Pasta Salad is a side dish everyone will want the recipe for! Tons of crab, vegetables and pasta in a tangy dressing, what’s not to like?
Carb cakes are one of my favorite dinners ever. I feel like I say that a lot here, but it’s true.
I guess I just have a lot of favorite dinners these days – and that’s not a bad thing.
But crab cakes feel like a special treat, too since we don’t have them a lot. So besides them tasting so good, it’s a dinner you don’t get often so it seems to taste that much better.
When we’re heading out to all these BBQ’s and parties over the summer, one thing we get asked a lot is if we can “bring a side”. Totally fine, I’ve got lots of favorites like this Oven Roasted BBQ Potato Salad and these Baked Beans that everyone wants the recipe for…but sometimes I just want to bring a side that’s different.
Something that no one has tasted before so I can add it to the list of things that people are going to keep asking me for…and I can promise you. This Crab Cake Pasta Salad is one of them.
A lot of people I know add tuna fish to pasta salad and that’s good. But the crab in here tastes lighter to me and with the peppers, celery and red onions the flavors remind me of a carb cake.
In pasta salad form.
Yep, I’m going to go with a side dish for this recipe but it will also work great for the main meal. On a hot summer night a cold bowl of this Crab Cake Pasta Salad is going to be a huge hit.
All the vegetables are already in there along with your carbs and protein so it’s pretty much a complete meal!
One of the great things about this recipe is that unlike a crab cake – it’s not going to break the bank. You can use claw meat for this since it’s not the main feature, not like a crab cake.
We grabbed a can on sale at our local grocery store for 16 bucks. Then with the other ingredients it only cost total about 20. And this recipe feeds a crowd so there’s no need to go and double it unless you’re going to be feeding it as a main meal instead of a side dish.
However you serve it, I can guarantee it’s going to be a hit!Print
