One bite of this Devilish Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad and you’ll be hooked! This creamy pasta salad is a side dish that you can also serve as the main meal!
One thing I love about summer is all the cook outs and BBQ’s that take place. Warm weather makes us feel like socializing and having drinks outside, cranking up the grill and getting whatever meat we can ready for dinner.
Ok, I know there are plenty of things to put on the grill besides meat but that is what I go to first.
I’m down with it all.
Then you’ve got your standard barbecue sides – potato salad, cole slaw, Buddha’s Balked Beans…all classics.
But I’m kicking up sides today like you wouldn’t believe with this Devilish Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad. It’s a pasta salad recipe to end all pasta salad recipes.
This chicken and pasta recipe is also so loaded with flavors that it really could be a whole meal. So I’m torn between calling this a side dish or a main meal because both things will totally work.
Basic Pasta Salad Ingredients
The basic ingredients that go into most pasta salad recipes can vary. But mainly the recipe consists of some form of short tube pasta, such as elbow macaroni, in a mayonnaise based dressing.Celery, onion and hard boiled eggs are also very common add ins.
To that basic mix, you can start adding whatever flavors you like!
For this pasta salad recipe I added chicken, bacon, celery, chopped hard boiled eggs, elbow macaroni….all mixed together with a creamy buffalo sauce that’s out of this world delicious.
There’s a LOT of food going on here.
Another great thing about this Devilish Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad is that it feeds like a million people.
That’s correct, a million.
The best pasta salad recipe actually should feed a ton of people because they’re typically made for parties, am I right? Most people don’t just sit home and make pasta salad for a side dish to dinner.

Can You Make Pasta Salad Ahead Of Time?
Obviously with a pasta salad like this one (or any pasta salad really) it’s going to taste the best when it’s first made. An hour or so in the fridge for the flavors to combine is good too, just give it a stir before serving.
What you can do is prepare the dressing separately from the elbow macaroni and the rest of the ingredients, then when you’re ready to serve you can toss the ingredients together.
If you do have leftovers, you can also make another batch of the dressing and add it to the pasta salad. Don’t worry, you can use that creamy buffalo dressing on tons of other things, not just in this pasta salad!
If you like your food a little more on the spicy side, you can throw in a few dashes of hot sauce too. The buffalo wing sauce in this pasta salad is mild so you get a nice mild heat.
Not the blow your head off kind.
Unless that’s what you’re going for…then add as much as you like!
