An Fall Twist On A Classic Moscow Mule
Sometimes a recipe or drink happens around the prop. Like this pumpkin copper mug – for sure I was making a Pumpkin Moscow Mule. Obviously.
Seems to be a good way to brainstorm recipes if you ask me! Well it’s worked so far, anyway. But there’s not really a cool glass or dish that I can really pass up. The shelves are getting filled to the top…
Then on top of finding the cool mug I found Pumpkin Pie Vodka. You really wouldn’t believe how many different types of vodka I have in my house. It spills over into the basement too where I store all of my props and extra kitchen equipment.
Pumpkin Pie Vodka was just the right ingredient I needed to make this twist on a Moscow Mule cocktail, and it turned out so delicious we’ll be adding this one to the cocktail list!
Ingredients For A Pumpkin Moscow Mule
- Pumpkin Pie Vodka
- Ginger liquor
- Ginger beer
- Fresh mint, cinnamon sticks and star anise for garnish
- If you can’t find pumpkin pie vodka, use a vanilla flavored vodka with a dash of pumpkin pie spice!
Believe me when I tell you that you won’t want to just make these Pumpkin Moscow Mules cocktails on Thanksgiving. Make sure to grab lots of copper mugs in different shapes so that you can make them all the time!
You can take this same cocktail recipe and swap out the vodka flavor to make any type of Moscow Mule you like! There’s so many flavored vodkas to choose from, the possibilities are really endless.
How To Serve A Pumpkin Moscow Mule
This is a drink recipe that you really don’t want to leave out the garnish. The fresh mint, spicy cinnamon stick and star anise are what makes this moscow mule stand out from the rest.
When you go in for a sip, you not only get the refreshing fall cocktail in your mug but the aromas of all of the garnish, too!
How to Make Moscow Mules Ahead of Time
Yes! And we love make ahead recipes of any kind for get togethers! It makes entertaining so much easier when you can get things done before your guests arrive. On Halloween we have a big party outside by our fire pit and fun Halloween cocktails like this pumpkin mule are always on the menu!
Just make the base for this drink recipe – doubled, tripled or however much you need to make for your friends – and keep it in a pitcher. Then set out the ginger beer next to the pitcher along with the mint garnish. Your guests can pour their own drink and top off with some bubbly ginger beer!
