A Good Luck New Year’s Cocktail
Coming up with these Fortune Cookie Shots for New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day parties wasn’t as easy as it would seem. I’ve done a few champagne cocktails already – the standard New Year’s Eve drink of choice, and for good reason.
Champagne is fun, festive and totally screams celebration time.
So to get some inspiration, I’ve been reading all about different traditions and belief’s that people have surrounding New Year’s Eve. Like Eating 12 grapes at midnight for good luck, or making a dish of “Long noodles” for longevity.
Maybe try some black eyed peas for good fortune on New Year’s Day? Ok so food – check. We’ve got you covered. But what about a signature cocktail? That’s where these Fortune Cookie Shooters come in.
Let’s start shaking and get ready to ring in the New Year!
These Fortune Cookie Shots are sweet, boozy and oh so delicious, so make sure you have a lot to go around. Also, make sure you grab a big bag of fortune cookies to serve as a garnish to this shot recipe and for snacking on!
Where Do You Buy Fortune Cookies?
I know, right???
I can’t tell you how amazed I was when I went down the Asian food aisle at my regular ol’ grocery store and found that they sell fortune cookies! So, no, you don’t have to go to your favorite Chinese take out place and steal all their fortune cookies…
Just head to the store and buy yourself a big bag of them to use as garnish for these Fortune Cookie Shots! This shot recipe is perfect for New Year’s Eve or really and holiday or party. Boozy enough to make you proud, but also sweet enough to be acceptable for even the people that “don’t do shots”.
You know who you are.
And there’s no difference in flavor, either when you buy fortune cookies from the store. Exactly the same cookie that you get from Chinese take out – exactly. Actually since we have made this discovery, we have added fortune cookies to our regular snacking menu. Fortune cookies are actually pretty low in calories, low in fat and super addicting!
Can You Make This Drink Recipe Ahead Of Time?
Absolutely! Shake up these shots (as many as you need) and keep them in a pitcher until you’re ready to serve. All you need to do is stir, pour and serve! Garnishing with a fortune cookie on top, of course.
Because we know that you’re already going to be busy preparing all those delicious party appetizers like these Bacon Wrapped Scallops or these super tasty Sausage Stuffed Artichoke Hearts!
These fun holiday cocktails are perfect for ringing in the New Year at midnight – when the ball drops it’s bottoms up!
