Copycat Spaghettios Recipe

Because let’s be honest, who hasn’t had a can of Spaghettios at least once in their life? I have to say we grew up on the stuff, the kind with meatballs please. My mom used to count the meatballs that each of us got in our bowl because we’d freak out about who got more…and then if there was an odd meatball she’d pop it into her mouth.

But when you can’t get a can of that classic pasta, or maybe you just want a homemade, healthier version? This Easy Homemade Spaghettios Recipe is IT! I’m telling you guys, this pasta does taste like the original but it IS even better.

So our boys really don’t like Spaghettios from the can, I’ve tried it a few times and they just don’t get it. It kind of bummed me out not being able to share a part of what I loved growing up with them, but then we made this copycat recipe and they are hooked!

What Ingredients Do I Need To Make These Homemade Spaghettios?

This is a recipe that falls under our 5 Ingredient (or less) category. We’re not counting things in our 5 Ingredient recipes like butter or oil or seasonings because we assume you have those things already in your pantry. As far as this pasta recipe goes, there’s really only 3 ingredients!

Pasta: Any small pasta shape will do if you can’t find these cool O’s! Other examples that would would work are ditalini, orzo, elbows, alphabet pasta or broken spaghetti.

Whole Milk: Whole milk is preferred in this recipe because it’s what makes the pasta creamy. You can also use cream if that’s what you have on hand.

Tomato Sauce: Regular tomato sauce is what gives these homemade spaghettios their classic flavor!

Can You Reheat This Pasta Recipe?

We actually found that these homemade spaghettios reheated really well. It’s a very sauce pasta recipe so even if the pasta soaks up a little of the sauce it’s still has enough sauce to be flavorful when you heat it back up.

The microwave works totally fine, if you need to give it a little more sauce you can add a splash of milk and tomato sauce too!

How Do You Make This Easy Pasta Recipe?

All you need to do is cook the pasta and add the sauce ingredients and stir. It really is as simple as that! The heat from the pasta will warm the tomato sauce and milk so there’s no need to heat up the sauce before you add it to the pasta.

So even if you never liked Spaghettios growing up, you should still try this recipe! It has that kind of addicting, can’t stop eating simple flavor that I know will become a family staple in your house!

Good thing there aren’t any vampire in my household, laughing out loud. This recipe has way too much garlic. I won’t be talking to my kids for a week after I served them this. I would highly recommend if you do try this recipe, don’t ad garlic powder is bulk like Dan.

If you call 1/2 of a teaspoon of garlic powder “adding garlic in bulk” then we clearly can’t be friends Jack.

The flavor is fantastic! Mine turned out a little creamier than I think it was supposed to, next time I might use less whole milk. Other than that – superb!

LOVE this recipe!!! Made it several times now. Also added hot dogs or hamburger or beef ravioli and it was delicious! Was wondering… could you add some chicken broth to it to make it more of a soup?
