Ingredients You’ll Need
Here’s a photo of the ingredients that we used, but keep in mind that any brand will work. Head to the recipe card for a complete list of ingredients and amounts needed.
- Chicken Nuggets: Any brand you like will work, but we like using Just Bare® brand because they are extra crispy and larger in size. If you’re chicken nuggets are smaller you can add two nuggets to each roll.
- Small Dinner Rolls: The rolls shown here are the perfect size for this recipe. They’re found in the frozen section at the grocery store. Any small dinner roll will work, you might just have to double up on the chicken nuggets, or cut the roll in half.
- Honey: Part of the mixture to be brushed on top of the rolls.
- Butter: Melted butter mixed with honey to brush on top of the rolls.
- Chick Fil A Sauce: Found in most grocery stores, it kind of tastes like a honey mustard sauce so you can use that as a substitute if you can’t find it.
How To Make
These chicken minis are so easy to make, it’s really just about heating up and assembling! For complete instructions head down to the recipe card.
- Prepare & Assemble: Bake the chicken nuggets and frozen rolls according to the package directions. Place a chicken nugget onto each roll and top with a dollop of sauce.
- Baste & Serve: Baste the tops of the rolls with melted butter mixed together with honey. Serve immediately.
For Best Results
While I don’t often promote which types of brands to use in my recipes, these chicken sliders are a little different. The frozen rolls shown here and the Just Bare® chicken nuggets are literally perfect for making this recipe.
However, you don’t have to use them, use any small dinner roll (frozen or not, but they are good warm) and any chicken nugget that you like. Larger chicken nuggets work best, but you can always double up if yours are smaller.
Do try and serve these right away so everything is warm and crispy, but they are just as good warmed up later on as well. I took a whole plate of these over to my parents hours after they were in the refrigerator, warmed them in the oven and they were perfect.
Storing and Reheating
Leftover chicken minis can be wrapped in aluminum foil or place into an air tight container in the refrigerator for a couple of days. Not going to say that I’ve never grabbed a few and eaten them cold from the fridge, but warming them up is super easy to do.
The microwave will do the trick for a quick snack, but the oven is a little better for crisping things up again. Wrap them loosely in aluminum foil and warm in a 350 degree oven for just about 10 minutes and they’ll be perfect. Even if they’ve already had sauce added to the nuggets and brushed on top – they’re still so delicious.

- Chick Fil A Sauce (can also use honey mustard sauce)

- Mix the melted butter and honey together in a small bowl and brush on the top the rolls. Serve immediately.
Recipe Notes
If you can’t find these specific rolls, any small roll or biscuit will work, or you can cut the rolls you have in half.
You don’t have to use this brand of chicken nuggets but a large chicken nugget works best, or you can add two smaller nuggets to each roll.
How To Store Leftovers: You can store leftovers in a container in the refrigerator for 2 days, or you can wrap them in aluminum foil.
Reheating Leftovers: 30 seconds in the microwave is the fastest option. If you want to crisp these up again place them in the oven, loosely covered with foil, at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
