This Cherry Seven and Seven Cocktail is our twist on a classic Seven and Seven drink with a splash of cherry flavor! A fun, easy and festive drink that’s perfect for parties, happy hours and barbecues!

Why We Love This Cherry Seven and Seven Cocktail
There’s nothing not to love about a twist on a classic drink like a seven and seven. We love cherry flavor in lots of drinks, desserts and so much more. So when I hit the road to check out some of New York’s famous dive bard, this drink was on my mind. Dive bars are part of American history…I think we can all agree on that.
So when I got invited to one of the original dive bars in New York City, Rudy’s Bar and Grill – it was an easy yes. I love checking out bars of all sorts from fancy to the super dives. And yes, Rudy’s falls under a super dive. And I loved it.

That was me having some fun outside in the Seagrams 7 trailer. Just doing my thing and making some drinks on the streets of New York City, you know, just an average day.
Once we got inside there was a lot of Seagram’s to sample and sample we did. I brought a couple of friends with me to share the experience and a great time was had by all.

I’m actually thinking of making my own list of dive bars around NYC and hitting them all – taking pictures, having the classic drink of the bar and sampling some food. I think that might be on the Summer bucket list!
Some dive bars just have a bowl of peanuts. Some only serve a hunk of cheese with a knife and some you get nada. Just beer and whiskey. So you’d better make sure you get your snacks ahead of time.

To give this Cherry Seven and Seven Cocktail my own twist, I added cherry liquor and a whole bunch of fresh cherries. Nothing fancy, just some added flavor (and kick) from the fruit and the liquor.
Still dive bar-ish I think…just three ingredients instead of two.

And the bonus is that if you’re in one of those non-food serving dive bars you can snack on all the fresh cherries floating around in all that booze. Boozy snacks – it’s better than nothing and totally fitting in a dive bar to add alcohol to your food. I’ve got a lot of expertise in that area, too!
Check out how I added rum to these Coconut Rum Cookies for dessert or how I added Guinness to these Irish Carnitas. Booze and food go together just like whiskey and dive bars.

So try this Cherry Seven and Seven as a fun addition to cocktail hour at home or happy hour after work. I’m sure it’s going to be a hit with everyone!

This is such a delicious drink combo that I’ve been making recently in Rose City, Portland, as an LGBTQIA+ libation. Everyone has been so pleased with this *fruity* concoction.
