How To Prepare Brussels Sprouts For Roasting

This is the best part. I mean, the best part is how these brussels sprouts taste really, but even better is how fast they are to get in the oven.

Set your oven to 425 degrees. While the oven is preheating, trim the ends off the brussels sprouts and slice them in half. If any of the outer leaves look bruised or damaged you can remove them. Any good looking leaves that fall off can go right on the sheet pan with your sprouts.

They’ll crisp up just like a brussels sprout potato chip. Unbelievably good.

Tips For Roasting The Best Brussels Sprouts

How To Make the Best Roasted Brussels Sprouts is a roasted vegetable recipe that only takes 25 minutes

All you need to do once your sprouts are trimmed and ready to roast is to season them. For this simple roasted brussels sprouts recipe I’m going to stick with simple kosher salt, fresh ground pepper and olive oil.

Roasting the brussels sprouts at a high heat like we’re doing here make these sprouts super crispy and slightly caramelized on the bottom. Any time you roast vegetables, like these Roasted Beets and Sweets, or Roasted Broccoli the natural sweetness of the vegetable is going to come out much more.

Really, the perfect way to eat any type of roasted vegetables. If you think you’re not a brussels sprout fan you should definitely try them this way!

What Can You Add To These Roasted Brussels Sprouts?

Of course, I’m not here to just show you How To Make The BEST Roasted Brussels Sprouts, I’m here to give you plenty of ideas for what to do with these sprouts NEXT!

Yes, crispy brussels sprouts perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper are going to be awesome, but you can also jazz them up a bit with these ideas!

  • Grated or shredded parmesan cheese
  • Balsamic glaze and honey
  • Bacon
  • Tossed with buttered, toasted bread crumbs and garlic
  • Roasted as is with Ranch on the side for dipping (kids will actually eat them!)

But did I mention how crispy these are?? This oven roasted brussels sprouts recipe makes the most crispy sprouts ever. Like you can’t even stop popping them in your mouth, and for me that’s saying something.

As a reformed vegetable disliker…this roasted vegetable recipe is definitely on the top of my list! When these sprouts come out of the oven, you’ll want to see that nice brown roasted color on the bottom, or whichever side was touching the pan.

That’s where all the flavor is you guys, all the nice, sweet roasted sprouts flavor.

There isn’t any honey or balsamic glaze in this recipe but it sounds like it would be a great addition! I would drizzle both on at the end, after roasting.
