What Is A Mojito?

A mojito is a classic cuban cocktail made with white rum, fresh mint leaves, sugar, lime and soda water or seltzer. Fresh mint brings out the sweetness in the rum and makes for a super refreshing cocktail recipe.

We love making mojitos in the summer time, but to be honest, you can enjoy a mojito cocktail all season long. Maybe you’re lucky enough to live somewhere that you have a warm climate all year long, or maybe you’re just like us here on the East coast and you want a darn mojito in the winter time.

Muddle away, my friends. We won’t tell.

How Do You Make This Raspberry Mojito?

Start by using a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon or spatula and break up the raspberries with fresh mint in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Next add coconut rum, raspberry liquor and a squeeze of lime.

Shake well and strain into a high ball glass with some ice. Top with plain seltzer (or you can grab a raspberry seltzer) and garnish with more raspberries and fresh mint.

You can swap out blueberries or blackberries in this mojito cocktail too! Or use a combination of all of them for a Berry Mojito! Just make sure that whatever berry you end up using is the best flavor it can be. Grab a few and taste them first, if the berries are too tart then you’ll have to adjust the cocktail with some sugar.
