A Refreshing Classic Brunch Cocktail

Although we would drink this Sea Breeze Cocktail any time of the day, we especially enjoy it for brunch! There’s always the standard champagne cocktails and the Bloody Mary bar, but if you want to keep it light and refreshing this Sea Breeze is the way to go!

Usually these drinks are enjoyed in the warmer months but brunch cocktails don’t really seem to have a season, do they? I mean, I’ll take a mimosa any time of the year and a Bloody Mary or a Michelada? I’ll mix those up for you any time you’d like me to.

What Is A Sea Breeze Cocktail?

A Sea Breeze drink is typically made of grapefruit juice, cranberry juice and vodka. Of course there are many variations to this cocktail recipe but this is the traditional way of making it.

What You Need To Make A Sea Breeze

  • Vodka: Plain vodka is the standard for this drink but you can get creative and use a flavored vodka too.
  • Cranberry Juice: You can use regular cranberry juice or light cranberry juice if you’re looking to save a little sugar and a few calories.
  • Grapefruit Juice: Again, you can use regular or light for this drink, just grab the best quality you can find. Fresh would be amazing!

How To Make A Sea Breeze Cocktail

You can either pour the ingredients into a high ball glass and stir with ice or shake this drink in a cocktail shaker to create a foamy effect on the top of the drink. Usually, I like my drinks shaken but for this Sea Breeze I prefer the ingredients stirred together in a glass.

Just add ice to a high ball glass and then pour in the vodka, cranberry juice and grapefruit juice. Stir and garnish with a lime slice. We like to add a fresh slice of grapefruit, too if we have one around!

Can I Make This A Pitcher Drink?

Absolutely! If you don’t want to be playing bartender all night, or you just want to mix up a few of these drinks and then relax, double, triple or quadruple the amount is the recipe card here and keep it chilled in a pitcher in the refrigerator.

Slice up your lime wheels for garnish ahead of time too!
