Tequila Shots! It means party, right? These tequila shots are NO different.
Tequila mixed with peppermint schnapps and frozen until slushy and frothy. Then shaken in a shaker until these tequila shots are practically like a boozy, tequila slushy.
So, yes these are my fun and festive Christmas tequila shots….but imagine these in the summer on the beach or sitting out by the pool?
YES. You can even switch up the schnapps per the party. There’s so many to choose from, cinnamon, peach, watermelon even root beer schnapps.
What Is Schnapps?
Schnapps is a sweetened, typically fruit flavored liquor. Fruits are steeped in alcohol after the distillation process then most often have some colors and flavors added.
In the United States, schnapps is usually referring to a lower quality form of liquor which in other countries isn’t true at all.
German schnapps (schnaps) is a strong liquor of higher quality with no colors or additives and is usually enjoyed after a meal.
But today guys, we’re talking about tequila shots.
So these Frosty Peppermint Tequila Shots aren’t actually frozen, like a frozen margarita for instance. We’re only partially freezing these tequila drinks so it’s just a refreshing, cool, go down easy shot.
The important part here is the tequila.
There’s all different types of tequila but for this recipe I like to use a white or blanco tequila. I’m not going to get into brand names and stuff but use one that you like drinking.
Don’t go to the bottom of the barrel and get a tequila that tastes awful just because you’re making shot recipes with it. It will then just be a bad tasting tequila drink. Also if you can find these awesome peppermint shot glasses like found on Amazon, you’ll have a more minty flavor to these drinks.
AND it just looks cool so there’s that.
