A Fun, Rum Cocktail Recipe
We went over to a friend’s house for dinner the other night and after dessert the cigars and the rum were pulled out. I’m talking about high-quality sipping rum that goes hand in hand with a nice cigar. The conversation seemed to be all about Cuban things that night…Cuban rum, Cuban cigars, Cuban food, and so on.
So I thought this El Presidente cocktail would fit in perfectly with the Cuban theme, for those of you who don’t prefer to sip your rum straight up. My wife for one, keeps trying different types of liquor like bourbon or tequila sipped neat…it’s not for her. For her this El Presidente is a much better option. I have to admit that it’s pretty tasty, even if you are the type to sip your rum straight up…which I am…you’re still going to love this drink!
What Ingredients Do I Need To Make An El Presidente Cocktail?
The ingredients for this drink recipe are very simple. As with most simple recipes, when you only have a few ingredients you need to make sure they are all the best quality! Grab your “better” bottle of rum for this drink, not the top shelf but not the bottom of the barrel either. Somewhere in between is perfect.
White Rum: Like we mentioned, a decent bottle of rum, not something you wouldn’t drink on its own.
Grenadine: Grenadine can be found in most grocery stores, and definitely your local liquor store. It adds the beautiful red color to this cocktail.
Fresh Lime Juice: Don’t grab the stuff out of the bottle, squeeze a lime!
Pineapple Juice: Bottled pineapple juice is fine, most of us don’t have juicers. Just grab the best quality store bought juice you can find.
