Remember Shirley Temples? The drink we all used to order as kids? This Dirty Shirley Temple is an adult, boozy version that’s going to become a favorite!
A Grown Up Version Of A Classic Drink From Our Childhood
I used to LOVE going out to restaurants when I was a kid and ordering a Shirley Temple. I felt so grown up when it came to the table, a little kid version of the cocktails that my parents ordered…
But, man I really loved how they tasted, too! That sweet, cherry flavor mixed with ginger ale or 7 UP was literally the bomb when I was a kid. So we thought that we’d recreate this famous drink recipe and give it a little adult kick.
There’s nothing to say that we can’t enjoy flavors from our childhood even as adults!
Ingredients For A Dirty Shirley Temple
We’re getting a little creative with the booze here, and we think you’re going to love the combination!
Vanilla Vodka: Vanilla vodka adds a lot more flavor to this drink than regular vodka. It’s pretty widely available at your liquor store.
Moonshine: Never had it? Well you should really try it. Moonshine adds another level of booziness to this cocktail without covering up any flavor.
Maraschino Cherries: The classic flavor of maraschino cherries are a must for this drink!
Grenadine: You can use the grenadine right from your bottle of maraschino cherries, but you can also buy a whole bottle of it. You can grab grenadine at the liquor store and the grocery store.
To make these Dirty Shirley Cocktails all you need to do is fill a high ball glass with ice and add the vodka, moonshine and grenadine. Top with ginger ale or 7UP, stir and garnish with lots of cherries!
You can also add cherry flavored seltzer to these drinks if you want them a little less sweet.
