A Hot or Cold Christmas Punch Recipe For Parties
Who doesn’t love a good Christmas cocktail party? My hand is raised high – we love them.
Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties seem to make it OK to indulge in a little too much food and cocktails. Indulging is sort of our thing, if you haven’t noticed so we take all opportunities to shine.
One thing I love about making holiday drinks like this Slow Cooker Christmas Punch recipe is that you can make it ahead of time and walk away. Or you can mix all the ingredients together and serve this Christmas Punch cold. Talk about a versatile cocktail recipe! hot or cold, this punch tastes delicious and it’s sure to be a hit at parties!
If you’re really up to the challenge, you can actually serve this punch both ways too. Set out a pitcher full of the cold punch and then a slow cooker with the warm punch and let your guests choose hoe they want to drink it. just make sure no one tries to spike this Christmas Punch…there’s already plenty of boozy things going on in there.
What Goes Into This Christmas Punch?
This fruity punch is made with cranberry, pineapple and a splash of lemon juice. The lemon juice (fresh please) cuts down on the sweetness from the other juices so we’re not sipping on all sugar here.
Because the booze in the punch recipe is on point. On point meaning that there’s enough alcohol in this punch to get you feeling super festive, but not so much that you taste all alcohol when you take a sip.
In fact, you hardly taste the alcohol at all. So sip carefully, my friends.
Can You Make This Christmas Punch Without The Alcohol?
So if you want to make this punch recipe sans booze, maybe to have something fun for the kids to drink, you totally can. I would choose the cold option for serving and replace the vodka and triple sec with seltzer, flavored seltzer of soda like Sprite, 7UP or ginger ale.
You can can also get more kid friendly with the garnishes and use grapes and/or slices of fresh fruit like apples and oranges. Set up a garnish bar next to the kid friendly punch and let them pick their own garnishes! This is also a great idea for the adult punch table too.
Garnish Ideas:
- Apple slices
- Orange slices
- Lemon or Lime wedges
- Raspberries or blackberries
- Cherries
- Fresh Rosemary
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Star Anise
