You’re Going To Love This Orange Old Fashioned Cocktail
I’m always trying to think of ways I can take standard drinks and give them a different taste when I work on posts for Food Fanatic. I can’t just give them the same ol’ cocktail that everyone knows how to make. But the classics are around for a reason, so I’m taking a family favorite and giving it a twist with the Orange Old Fashioned recipe.
One of the standard cocktails that everyone knows and loves is an Old Fashioned. I know it’s a big hit with my family and friends – everyone seems to enjoy them. I’m amping up the orange flavor in this drink with some Grand Marnier and orange bitters. I’ve got to say, if you love orange flavored anything – you’re going to love this cocktail.
What Is Grand Marneir?
Grand Marnier is a French liquor that consists of premium cognac mixed with bitter orange essence. You can use this liquor in many different drink recipes from Cosmopolitans to margaritas or a classic Sidecar.
Many people think that Grand Marnier is interchangeable with Triple Sec, but we beg to differ. The flavor profiles are similar but Grand Marnier is definitely a higher quality liquor. It’s also not as sweet as Triple Sec, so you can taste more of the elevated orange essence.
