That drink with the fun, provocative name that we always loved to order in the 80’s and 90’s is still going strong! What’s not to love about a fruity, refreshing concoction like this drink recipe?

Sex on the Beach was originated in the 1980’s, according to the American Bartenders School Guide To Drinks. This fruity cocktail is made by mixing together orange juice, cranberry juice, vodka and peach schnapps – and sometimes a floater of grenadine is you’re feeling fancy.

What Ingredients Do You Need To Make Sex On The Beach?

Just a few simple ingredients go into making this delicious cocktail, but do make sure that you are using the best quality that you can!

Orange Juice: Pulp or no pulp, that’s up to you. I do recommend that you use a good brand of orange juice, preferable not from concentrate, or even fresh orange juice if possible.

Cranberry Juice: Again, get your favorite brand at the grocery store that you like to drink. If you’re looking to save a few calories you can try the low sugar or no sugar added variety.

Peach Schnapps: Round out the flavor of this tropical drink with a splash of peach schnapps – also to add some of that “you never knew it was coming” booziness.

Vodka: Since vodka is mostly flavorless, many people think that the brand doesn’t matter. But yes, my friends, it does. You don’t need top shelf brands for a mixer, but definitely not the bottom shelf, either. Somewhere in the middle works best!

How Do You Make A Sex On The Beach Cocktail?

Making this fruity cocktail is really so easy, I’m not sure why people don’t make it all the time. All you need to do is follow these simple steps!

1. Fill a highball glass with ice
2. Pour in the orange juice, peach schnapps and vodka
3. Top with cranberry juice and a splash of grenadine if desired
4. Garnish with maraschino cherries, orange slices and an umbrella!

How Do You Garnish Sex on the Beach?

Garnishing this drink recipe is as easy as adding a few maraschino cherries and an orange slice to the top of your highball glass. Or you can use just one or the other, it depends on how creative you feel like getting.
