A Party Punch Recipe For St. Patrick’s Day

If you’re planning on a big party for St. Patrick’s Day, this is the drink recipe for you! Punch recipes are perfect for big crowds because it’s a self serve, make ahead cocktail. Be a guest at your own party and not in the kitchen mixing up drinks for everyone.

This Boozy Shamrock Party Punch is one of our favorite ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, it’s fruity, boozy and super tasty. You can also serve this punch recipe for brunch! Top the punch off with champagne or prosecco instead of soda and you’ll have a mimosa recipe that’s perfect for any occasion.

How Do You Make Boozy Shamrock Party Punch?

Start off by making the fruit shapes. We went a little over the top and made some fun shamrock shapes out of our fruit, but a melon baller will work just fine. Then all you need to do is add the ingredients into a punch bowl, mix and garnish with the fruit.

It’s really as simple as that, I promise. This punch recipe looks impressive and fun, but that’s all the fruit topping which can be done way in advance of your party, even a day or two. When you serve this punch, add a scoop of sherbet to a glass and top with the punch and fruit.

You can also add the sherbet to the punch bowl and let it melt right into the drink!

    Variations

You can also swap out the melon and fruit here and switch it up with pretty much anything. Pineapple would be delicious, orange segments and berries too. Use your imagination and customize this punch recipe however you like it.

This punch can also be made for any holiday by swapping out the colors of the fruits and liquor. For instance, on Christmas you could use red and green fruits and add Pomegranate liquor instead of melon liquor.

Or on New Year’s Eve you can add champagne instead of soda and use a clear liquor or really any color you like!

How Do I Keep Punch Cold?

This is where the sherbet comes in. Like we mentioned before, you can add the sherbet right into the punch bowl and it will slowly melt into the punch, keeping your punch cold all night long.

We don’t recommend adding ice to this punch recipe because it will water down the flavors, and we wouldn’t want to do that at all. But have a bucket of ice out that your guests can add to their own glasses as they make their drinks. Or you can use the sherbet as “ice” and add it to individual glasses while serving.

Holiday punch recipes like this Boozy Shamrock Party Punch are really the center attraction. Everyone loves a festive drink recipe, especially on St. Patrick’s Day! Give your friends something to drink besides green beer, they’ll thank you for it.

What If I Don’t Have A Punch Bowl?

Punch bowls are super fun, there’s so many to choose from in all different price points. But if you don’t have a punch bowl, there are other things that you can use to serve this party punch recipe!

    • Hollowed Out Watermelon: You can cut a large watermelon in half, hollow out the fruit and pour this punch right in! A large honeydew melon half would work too, you can set out a few around the room. Just shave a little off the bottom half of the melon so that it sits flat on a surface.
    • Mixing Bowls: Freeze large mixing bowls and use them to serve your punch. Again, you can set out a couple of different bowls around the room.
    • Pitchers: Glass or plastic pitchers work for serving punch, too. Use whatever you have on hand!
