Island Coffee Drink with bottle

Banana Rum Coffee Recipe

Whether we’re having brunch or settling down after dinner, this Banana Rum Coffee Recipe always hits the spot.

This coffee drink gets flavored with just a little banana liquor to keep the island theme going. Not enough to make the drink to sweet, just enough to give you that hint of banana flavor.

I’m not even sweetening the whipped cream at all for this drink, I want to taste the coffee and rum. Mostly the rum.

I do enjoy rum in lots of different cocktails when it’s hot out, or cold out, doesn’t matter what time of year. Rum cocktails are always a favorite of mine, or just straight up in a glass if it’s the good stuff.

How To Make Rum Coffee

Just brew a cup of your favorite coffee and then add in the banana liquor and rum. Top it off with a few scoops of the fresh whipped cream and you’re good to go.

Keep a pot of coffee hot to make these drinks in bulk. Often if we’re having a dinner party, we’ll serve these coffee drinks after dinner along with dessert.

Variations On This Coffee Drink

As far as the alcohol is concerned, rum isn’t the only option. Tequila, whiskey or bourbon and even gin are all good choices.

Of course if banana flavor isn’t your thing, you can simply omit the banana liquor. Flavored coffees can also work, play around with your favorites and see what you like!
