Yellow Card Cocktail

This Yellow Card Cocktail is a refreshing tequila cocktail with pineapple juice! You don’t have to be a soccer fan to enjoy this drink, just a tequila fan!

It’s a warning. A penalty. It’s not a good thing…but this drink definitely is.

It tastes even better if your watching some soccer along with it…my wife was lucky enough to stop by the Hornitos® Tequila World Cup Soccer party where they were serving up these drinks. She said the crowd was unreal, I tried to speak to her on the phone a couple of times and I couldn’t hear a thing.

Thankfully, she was up in the lounge sitting in a comfortable chair – watching the chaos below. USA won that night so it was definitely a good night to have hosted a party.

The bar was serving a few different drinks that you could order, The Hornitos® Lime Shot was being featured, served chilled in a glass with a lime wedge. There were a couple of other drinks that were made with the Hornitos® Plata, but my wife said the Yellow Card was her favorite.

How Do You Make A Yellow Card Cocktail?

The Yellow Card has tequila, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice and agave nectar and fresh chopped cilantro leaves. It’s meant to be served over ice in a high-ball glass but I decided to re-create it martini-style. If you don’t have agave nectar you can easily swap out simple syrup instead.

No substitution for the cilantro though, it definitely gives this cocktail a distinct flavor, so if you don’t like the flavor just leave it out.

Either way you want to serve it, over ice in a glass or straight up in a martini – it’s a tasty drink- straight up for me and ice cold. The colder the better.

Soccer is becoming the most watched sporty in America and for good reason, it’s an exciting and fast-paced game that all ages love to watch.

So make yourself a Yellow Card and cheer on our team – Go USA!
