Bourbon Chocolate Balls

An Easy Bourbon Dessert Idea

These Bourbon Chocolate Balls are really easy to make, messy-  but easy.

They also have a half of a cup of bourbon in them. Which makes them really delicious.

And I have to say- do NOT involve the kids- this is not one of those recipes where it would be fun for them to be around. First of all, they are pretty messy to make, there was chocolate all over my hands…and more importantly there’s a lot of bourbon in these things, so when the kids start licking their fingers…I’m just warning you it wouldn’t be good.

How to Make Bourbon Balls

Get all your ingredients together so you’re ready to go.

I used a Jim Beam Maple in these but you can use any kind of bourbon or whiskey that you have. You can also substitute rum in here and make rum balls instead.

Next put all of the ingredients into a large bowl and mix it up well.

I let it sit for about 15 minutes just to let the booze soak in a little.

Then take a 1 inch sized piece of the dough and roll into a ball. If it gets too sticky you can wet your hands or spray them with cooking spray.

Roll the balls into cocoa or powdered sugar- or both and refrigerate for a couple of hours.

Notes

  • I think these bourbon balls hold up better and taste better when they are refrigerated. The recipe I followed this from doesn’t say that you have to keep them in the fridge, it’s just my preference.
