An Easy, No Cook Christmas Appetizer Recipe!

One of the best things about making an antipasto platter is that it doesn’t involve any cooking at all. Just gathering all the ingredients and assembling them onto a patter or board. This Christmas Antipasto Platter can be made all year long, but we made this antipasto platter festive by shaping into a Christmas tree!

You can switch up the ingredients in this Italian Antipasto, it’s really about the idea of it.

There’s honestly so many things that I bought to put onto this antipasto tray that I ran out of room. But I do like to have more than I need so you can always replenish what’s missing as your guests are eating.

What Are The Ingredients for This Italian Antipasto?

Let’s start at the top and work our way down. We used a yellow bell pepper for the star, cutting it out with a cookie cutter. Cheese is also a good idea for the start or you can use a slice of start fruit.

The next row down we aded some sliced meat. Salami, prosciutto, ham, soppressata, pepperoni are all good choices here. We added thin sliced salami and made it a few layers deep so there’s more below after someone grabs a few off the top.

After the salami there’s sliced of smoked pepper jack cheese. We love pepper jack of all kinds, especially this smoked pepper jack if you can find it. The smokey cheese is a perfect addition to this antipasto platter along with the rich meats and marinated vegetables.

Cheddar, parmesan, gouda, really any cheese that you like can be used here. Anything sliceable that people can grab and get onto a cracker or a slice of meat works.

Next up are these tiny yellow and red tomatoes that we found. These tomatoes are super sweet and we love that they are smaller in size so we can pile them onto this platter. But of course grape tomatoes or cherry tomatoes will do the trick!

You have to have some sort of briny olives and pickles on an antipasto tray so we grabbed these green and black marinated olives that we really perfectly flavored without a lot of oil. If there is oil in your marinated olives just drain it out and save it in case you need to pack up leftovers!

Below the olives we tamed down the flavor with fresh mozzarella balls, because you’ve got to have the mozzarella when you’re making Italian antipasto! These mozzarella balls come marinated as well, but there are so many flavors going on here we decided to keep these as is.

Ok so next up has to be my newest favorite ingredient for cheese platters or antipasto platters. They’re called Sweety Drops or Pepper Drops and I see them popping up everywhere! These little peppers are SO delicious in salads, too. They are very mildly spiced, more sweet and just burst when you bite into them. Tiny pepper, huge flavor!

For the base of our Christmas Antipasto Platter I used an olive tapenade because I thought it looked cool and sort of like the bottom of a tree… but it’s also delicious. You can spread tapenade onto crackers or crostini or wrap it up in a piece of ham or salami.
