Dessert Shot Recipes
Dessert shots are one of my favorite things to break out after dinner. Maybe you’re too full from dinner but still want something a little sweet, or maybe you’re just not done with cocktails yet.
Coffee is usually the signal when you’re at someone’s house for dinner that the fun is over and it’s time to wind down right? Not that you can’t offer your friends coffee but I still like to pass out some shots just to keep things going for a little while longer.
This is a guy’s way of breaking out dessert. Throw a bag of good store bought cookies on the table and start mixing up the shots. That’s my way of doing it anyway. I do seem to have an effect on people around me when there’s cocktails going on…those who are friends with me know, saying no thank you isn’t really an option.
How Do You Make These Dessert Shots?
Amaretto, Bailey’s Irish Cream and chocolate vodka. If you don’t have chocolate vodka, you can substitute plain vodka and it’s still going to be delicious. But if you really want to kick up the chocolate flavor, definitely try and find the chocolate vodka. Bonus, you can use it for a lot of drink recipes, not just this one!
Chocolate vodka is also pretty awesome just poured into a hot cup of coffee. So the next time you’re at someone’s house for dinner and they ask if you want coffee, you can tell them sure – with vodka.
To rim the shot glasses, crush chocolate chip cookies in a food processor to make fine crumbs. Dip the edges of the glasses in corn syrup and then in the cookie crumbs. The deeper you make the corn syrup rim, the larger your cookie crumb rim will be.
Now grab the booze, add it to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake like crazy. Pour these Chocolate Chip Cookie Shots into shot glasses and serve. Easy, fun, and ridiculously tasty!
Can I Make This Drink Recipe Ahead Of Time?
I mean, you’re planning a party, right? So yes. Make these Chocolate Chip Cookie Shots the morning of or a couple of hours before your party starts. Rim the glasses and let them hang out until you’re ready to pour the shots.
Mix up the shots and keep them in a pitcher in your refrigerator, then stir well before serving. A trick we like to do is to use a whisk and whisk the drink vigorously, instead of pouring the drink back into a cocktail shaker.
