This Rum Harvest Cocktail is like a kicked up version of a rum and coke, with fresh lime juice and cranberry to really add to the flavor!
This rum cocktail is really what I like to drink during the colder weather. It’s a rum and coke – but kicked up in the flavor area a lot with the addition of fresh lime juice and a splash of cranberry.
I found this recipe on thebar.com and I knew I’d love it – and you would too. You can definitely use the spiced rum like they have in their recipe but I grabbed a bottle of Captain Morgan Private Stock.
Because I love it. I had a rum tasting party a couple of years back and it actually was the favorite in a blind tasting by mostly everyone there, and there were about 20 people there (and LOTS of rum) so I’d say that’s a pretty good outcome.
So that’s what I used in this Rum Harvest Cocktail, you can take your pick between the two!
I made up a bunch to taste test, spiced rum and private stock, and both were good but I still prefer the private stock really for any drink. All the rum drinking is definitely getting me in gear for my trip coming up in a few weeks to St. John.
BACK to St. John…
I went there 2 years ago with my family and friends and haven’t been able to get it out of my head. Perfect beaches. Perfect little town area to head into at night for dinner/drinks/music.
Best beach vacation so far – hands down.
So this time we gathered a few more friends and their kids and are heading back right after Thanksgiving.
And drink all the rum we want to.
So swap out the rum if you want, but make sure when you do make this cocktail that you use fresh lime juice – it really makes a difference in the outcome of the drink. And I promise you you’re going to love it!
Maybe it’ll remind you of your favorite beach vacation…any recommendations, please let me know!
