Popcorn and Cheese Wine Garnish are a fun and quick decoration (and snack) for your wine! Why do cocktails get all the fun!
As you might know by now, I make a lot of cocktails on the site here. One of my favorite parts of making cocktails (besides drinking them) is coming up with a garnish.
It’s what takes a cocktail from good to great in my opinion.
It it’s a garnish that’s edible like in these Double Trouble Tropical Tequila Shots or a simple decorative garnish like these Rosemary Reposado cocktails.
But it’s always a cocktail of some sort, right? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a glass of wine served with a garnish which is why I came up with these Popcorn and Cheese Wine Garnish.
Wine and cheese – no one is going to argue about that combo. In addition to the cheese I added some simple, bacon and cheese flavored popcorn.
Not only do these kabobs look awesome but they go perfectly with a glass of white or red.
Definitely serve more popcorn and cheese in bowls on the side…you’re going to need them depending on how many glasses of wine you’re going to have.
You can pick whatever types of cheese you like for these Popcorn and Wine Garnish, I picked Cheddar and Colby jack just to keep it simple but blue cheese or gruyere or feta or gouda would work perfectly.
For the popcorn you can grab any type of popcorn seasoning, pop up some popcorn, then toss it with some butter so that the seasoning sticks and just because it tastes good.
Then it’s time to start assembling the kabobs. Thread on a piece of popcorn and alternate it with the cheese cubes. Make up a few ahead of time and that way when you or your guest needs another glass they get another one in an instant.
Pretty cool right? I’m thinking this Popcorn and Cheese Wine Garnish are going to be a bit hit at cocktail hour all over!
