Scale

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Stir Fry Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil, divided
  • 3 medium bell peppers, sliced into strips
  • 1 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Fresh black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 pound boneless pork chops, sliced into 1/4″ strips (can also use pork tenderloin)
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • White sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the stir fry sauce, cover and keep warm until ready.
  2. Add one tablespoon of the oil to a large, deep skillet or a wok over medium-high heat. Add the peppers and onions to the skillet, along with the salt and fresh black pepper to taste. Stir fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are softened but still slightly crisp. Add the chopped garlic, stir and cook 1 minute longer. Remove the vegetables from the skillet to a bowl and cover to keep warm.
  3. Dry the sliced pork with paper towels to remove any moisture. Season the pork with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Add the cornstarch to a resealable bag and toss the pork lightly, tapping off the excess as you remove it from the bag.
  4. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the skillet, the add half of the pork strips. Don’t overcrowd the skillet or you won’t get a good sear on the pork. Cook the pork for 2-3 minutes on each side until the pork strips have a brown crust. Remove the pork from the skillet (you can add it to the bowl with the peppers and onions) and repeat with the remaining pork.
  5. Once all of the pork has been cooked, pour the peppers and onions back into the skillet. Pour in 1/2 cup of the stir fry sauce and toss together with the pork and vegetables. You can add more sauce to your liking. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.

Recipe Notes

You won’t need all the stir fry sauce for this recipe, but it keeps in a covered container in the refrigerator for 5 days. Use it to make another stir fry recipe, or as a sauce for chicken, steak or pork.

Store: Store leftover stir fry in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat: Reheat the stir fry in the microwave until warmed through. Add a little extra stir fry sauce or soy sauce to add some moisture back to the dish.
