Fried Cabbage with Bacon is an easy vegetable side dish that goes with many meals! Tender, sweet cabbage with crispy, salty bacon is the perfect combination!

Ingredients
- 6 strips of bacon
- 1 pound of white cabbage, cored and diced (about 1/2 medium head of cabbage)
- 1/2 cup diced red or yellow onion
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- Fresh ground black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook bacon in a large skillet until crispy, remove to a paper towel lined plate but keep the bacon drippings in the skillet. Chop the bacon into a large dice.
- Add the cabbage and onion to the skillet along with the salt and pepper. Stir and cook for 8-10 minutes until the onions and cabbage have softened but the cabbage still has a crunch to it.
- Stir in the brown sugar, along with the chopped bacon. Taste and adjust the seasonings if needed and serve with chopped parsley for garnish.
Recipe Notes
Store: Store cooled down cabbage in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat: Reheat cabbage in the microwave until warmed through.
