This Juicy Turkey Burger Recipe is so moist and flavorful thanks to our secret ingredient. These burgers are best cooked in a skillet so you can make them all year long. Enjoy them as is or piled onto buns with all your favorite toppings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground turkey (93% or 97% lean)
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 – 1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper, depending on your taste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 heaping tablespoons grated onion with juice

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  2. Spray a large skillet or griddle with non-stick cooking spray over medium to medium-low heat. You can also spray your hands with cooking spray or wet them slightly with water so the turkey mixture won’t stick to your hands when you’re forming the patties. (See note)
  3. Form the turkey mixture into 6 patties as best as you can, Place the patties onto the hot skillet (use a spatula to help from the patties more once they’re in the skillet) and cook for 5 minutes on each side, until no longer pink in the center, and the temperature registers 165 degrees with a meat thermometer. Transfer the turkey burgers onto a plate covered with foil and repeat with the remaining patties.
  4. Serve with or without buns and with desired condiments and/or toppings.

Recipe Notes

Because the ground turkey mixture will be quite wet, we loosely form a portion into a ball and then place it into the skillet. Then using a spatula sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, press down until we get a flatter, rounder patty.

You can keep the turkey burgers warm in a 300 degree oven on an oven proof plate covered with foil for about 30 minutes or until ready to serve.

If you’re not a mayonnaise fan, you can substitute olive oil, but the mayonnaise adds a lot of flavor to the burgers.
