These delightfully crispy Copycat Totino’s Pizza Rolls have a gooey, cheesy center and a burst of tangy tomato sauce. With their homemade freshness, they just might beat the original!

Scale

Ingredients

  • Canola or vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 package square wonton wrappers
  • 116-ounce bag shredded mozzarella cheese (about 3 1/2 cups)
  • 15-ounce can store bought pizza sauce, marinara sauce or your own homemade sauce
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Grated parmesan cheese for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Over the Stove

  1. Lay a wonton wrapper on a board so that it’s in the shape of a diamond.
  2. Add 1 tsp of sauce, 1 tsp of mozzarella cheese and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning to the middle of the wonton wrapper. Add additional fillings if desired.
  3. Fold the sides over the center of the filling so the overlapping corners make a square. Wet your fingertip with water and dab onto the edges so the wonton seals. Now bring the top and bottom corners together to meet in the middle, making a rectangle envelope shape. Seal the edges with water.
  4. Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers.
  5. Heat a large pot filled halfway with canola or vegetable oil over medium heat. Once the oil reaches 375°F, carefully add a few wontons to the oil in a single layer and fry for 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown.
  6. Remove the pizza rolls from the oil when they are golden brown and place them on a plate lined with paper towels. Repeat with the rest of the pizza rolls.
  7. Serve immediately with extra sauce for dipping, or keep warm in the oven at 300°F for up to an hour.

In the Air Fryer

  1. Heat your air fryer to 400°F. Spray pizza rolls with an oil cooking spray and add to your air fryer in a single layer.
  2. Cook for 6 minutes, flip and cook for 3-4 minutes longer.
