A tasty tequila shot made with fresh watermelon that’s perfect for serving at parties! Learn how to cut a watermelon into these fun sticks!
Ingredients
Scale
- For this recipe you’ll need 1 medium sized watermelon, half for “sticks” and the other half for cubes.
- 1/2 cup white (blanco) tequila
- 1/4 cup triple sec
- 2 limes, juiced
- seltzer for topping
- (6) 4 ounce shot glasses
- Sugar for rimming the glasses
Instructions
- Cut the watermelon on half lengthwise as show in the picture above. Cut into 1 inch strips one direction, then back across in the other direction to make sticks. Cut the other half of the watermelon into cubes to be used for the juice.
- For each batch of 6 shooters, add 2 cups of cubed watermelon to a blender and blend until liquified. Pour the juice through a fine strainer into a pitcher or a large measuring bowl with a spout for pouring.
- Add the tequila, triple sec and lime juice to the bowl with the watermelon juice and stir.
- Rim the shot glasses by slightly wetting along the rims and the coating in sugar.
- Pour the watermelon cocktail into each shot glass (about 1/2 full) then insert one watermelon stick into each glass.
- Top with a splash of seltzer and serve.
