Watermelon Margarita Shooters

A tasty tequila shot made with fresh watermelon that’s perfect for serving at parties! Learn how to cut a watermelon into these fun sticks!

Ingredients

  • For this recipe you’ll need 1 medium sized watermelon, half for “sticks” and the other half for cubes.
  • 1/2 cup white tequila
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • seltzer for topping
  • (6) 4 oz shot glasses
  • Sugar for rimming the glasses

Instructions

  1. Cut the watermelon on half lengthwise as show in the picture above.
  2. Cut into 1 inch strips one direction, then back across in the other direction to make sticks.
  3. Cut the other half of the watermelon into cubes to be used for the juice.
  4. For each batch of 6 shooters, add 2 cups of cubed watermelon to a blender along with the tequila, triple sec and lime juice.
  5. Blend until smooth.
  6. Rim the shot glasses by slightly wetting along the rims and the coating in sugar.
  7. Fill each shot glass 1/2 full with the margarita mixture then top insert one watermelon stick per glass.
  8. Top with a splash of seltzer and serve.
