This Green Tea and Thyme Martini recipe is perfect for when you want a cocktail, but you’re a little under the weather! This easy martini is a cold version of a hot toddy.
Ingredients
For the Green Tea:
- 3 Green Tea Bags
- 2 Cups Water
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
- 2 Sprigs Fresh Thyme
For the Martini:
- 2 1/2 ounces prepared Green Tea
- 1 1/2 ounces Vodka
- 1/2 teaspoon Lemon Juice
Instructions
Add 2 cups of water to a microwavable dish (like a large Pyrex measuring cup) and heat until boiling in the microwave, about 5 minutes.
Add the tea bags, honey and fresh thyme to the boiling water. Cover with a plate and let steep for 10 minutes.
Remove the thyme and let cool in the refrigerator until you’re ready. (Or you can use the “quick cool” method I mentioned above)
In a shaker filled with ice, add 2 1/2 oz. of your brewed tea, the vodka and lemon juice. Shake well and strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a fresh thyme sprig and a slice of lemon.
Recipe Notes
You’ll have plenty of tea leftover for making more green tea martinis, or just for drinking. The tea would also be great hot with a shot of bourbon!
