This delicious bacon brittle recipe is perfect for giving as a hostess gift during the holidays or any gift giving occasion!

- 1 cup salted butter
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup real bacon bits or cooked, crumbled bacon
Instructions
- Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and set aside.
- Add the butter to a 2 quart, heavy bottomed pot over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, stir in the brown sugar, maple syrup and bourbon.
- Bring to a boil, then turn down to low heat and let simmer until a candy thermometer reaches 300 degrees.
- Turn the heat off and carefully whisk in the the baking soda. The mixture will lighten and bubble up when you add the baking soda so stir quickly.
- Carefully pour out onto the baking sheet and spread into and even layer. Add the bacon bits to the top of the brittle while it’s still warm.
- Let the brittle cool for at least 30 minutes, then break apart into pieces.
