Make these Crack Beef Tips at your next party! Tender beef tips with a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce – so addicting, they’ll be gone in minutes!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound top sirloin, trmiied of any visible fat and cut into large, bite size cubes (see note)
- 2 tablespoons All Purpose Seasoning (or your favorite steak seasoning)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 eggs beaten with a splash of water
- 1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs
- Olive oil for drizzling
- Ranch dressing for dipping
For the Sauce:
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (a Japanese BBQ sauce is thinner but we love the flavor, for a thicker glaze use regular BBQ sauce)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
Instructions
- Set out two bowls for breading the beef; one with the beaten eggs and one with the breadcrumbs.
- Dip a piece of beef into the eggs letting the excess drip off. Now add to the breadcrumbs and press to adhere so the beef tip is fully coated on all sides. Place onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Repeat until all the beef tips are coated.
- Preheat the broiler.
- Place the breaded beef tips under the broiler for 5 minutes, flip over and broil for another 5 minutes.
- While the beef is cooking, make the sauce by adding the barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce to a small pan over medium heat. Whisk until the honey is dissolved and then simmer for 5-7 minutes to reduce.
- Remove the beef tips from the oven and carefully transfer them to a bowl. Pour about half of the sauce over the beef tips and stir gently until all are coated in the sauce.
- Serve with extra sauce and Ranch dressing for dipping.
Recipe Notes
Top sirloin is more tender than bottom sirloin. You can also use strip steak or tenderloin, but those are more expensive choices. This is a quick cooking recipe so keep that in mind, you don’t want any big pieces of fat because they won’t render down.
