This Cheesy Sausage Crostini is the appetizer recipe that everyone will be asking you for! AND it’s super easy to make – you don’t have to cook the sausage ahead of time!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (long and thin) french baguette, cut into 1/2 inch thick slices
  • 1 pound Italian sausage (loose or removed from casings)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Add the sausage, 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese, the parmesan cheese, cream cheese, parsley, Italian seasoning and garlic powder to a large bowl. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined.
  3. Place the sliced bread onto a baking sheet. Spread a thin, even layer of the sausage mixture onto the sliced bread onto each slice. Bake for 15 minutes and then remove from the oven.
  4. Preheat the broiler.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese onto the sausage crostini and place under the broiler for 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and slightly browned.
  6. Serve immediately.
