Adding whole milk and cream and good white chocolate are key to making this hot chocolate taste as good as it looks! Of course we love the addition of creamy, boozy RumChata in this recipe too, but if you’re not a drinker or want to make a version for the kids you can just leave it out!

Besides the flavor, we love how festive this drink is for Christmas, but you can customize this recipe for every holiday! Try gold and silver sprinkles for New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day brunch. Or pink and red sprinkles or red hot candies for Valentine’s Day…the list goes on but you see where I’m going.

Can I Make This Spiked Hot Chocolate Recipe In A Slow Cooker?

Yes you can! Just add all the ingredients for the for the hot chocolate, except for the chocolate chips, into a small slow cooker and set it on low. Once the milk and cream is warm you can pour in the chocolate chips. Stir the chocolate chips occasionally until they are completely melted into the milk and cream.

You can keep this white hot chocolate recipe on low for several hours until you need it, and even during your party. Just have your quests add the whipped cream and peppermint to their glass…and maybe another shot or two of RumChata!

Or you can make this boozy hot chocolate on the stove per the instructions and then add it to your slow cooker to keep warm while your party is going. You’ve got options here!

What Other Flavors Can You Add To White Hot Chocolate?

This boozy white hot chocolate is not only great at Christmas time but any time you want a sweet, Rumchata cocktail!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup RumChata
  • Garnish:
  • Whipped cream
  • Crushed peppermint candies

Instructions

  1. Add the milk, cream and vanilla to a saucepan over medium heat. Do not boil.
  2. Once the milk starts to simmer, add the chocolate chips and whisk until the chocolate is melted into the milk completely.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the RumChata. Stir to combine and serve immediately in mugs.
  4. Garnish with whipped cream and crushed peppermint (optional)

    Thanks for the recipe. The only question that I have is: where did you get that sweet Santa Claus glass jar? I would pay good money to get a couple of them for my kids. Heck, even I will use it for my own use. I just love them.
