Easy Green Bean Recipe

Roasted Asian Green Beans Recipe

I’m not going to go on and on here about how much I love green beans. But I really do enjoy these Asian Green Beans more than most vegetables.

Put a bowl of boiled green beans in front of me and I’ll eat them…but only because I have to keep up the appearances up with my kids. I don’t hate them, I just don’t really like them.

But put a bowl of these Asian Green Beans in front of me and you’d better take yours out first.

These beans are roasted. Roasting the beans makes them taste less, well like green beans. Instead they taste crispy and sweet and nothing like a boiled green bean that our parents used to give us.

I guarantee this is a side dish that could totally take over your main dish. Grilled chicken, steak, shrimp…all would go amazing with these beans.

You could also toss these beans with your protein and then serve it over rice. See that? Side dish turned into the main course. I told you it would happen.

How To Roast Green Beans

Grab your beans and toss them in some salt, garlic powder and fresh ground black pepper. Drizzle with a little olive oil and get them in the oven.

The trick is roasting the beans at a high temperature so they get blistered and crispy. When they come out they’re gonna look like this.

Roasted Veggie Side Dish Recipe

While they’re roasting, mix up the asian glaze. It doesn’t look like a lot but you don’t want them dripping in it, just tossed and glazed.

Top them with toasted sesame seeds and serve. Green beans have never looked so good! The verdict is still out on the 7 year old green bean hater…We’ll be having them for dinner later on. I’ll keep you posted!

My husband and I tried this recipe for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it! Point for the mantitlement!
We have always struggled with cooking green beans, under-cooked or over-cooked, but this recipe cooks them to perfection. Super easy and super delicious. The only tweak to this recipe is we cut the Asian glaze to 1/4 the amount. Thanks for sharing!

My only change: I used orange juice because I didn’t have pineapple juice. It was easy to make and delicious. I can’t wait to make it again using the pineapple juice.
